History of ASH Plastics Ltd
ASH Plastics Ltd was established in 1982 and has been serving the acrylic industry now for over 40 years.
ASH Plastics Ltd was founded on the 14th of July 1982 by Robert Archer, David Swingwood and Nigel Houlder.
Originally based at Unit 3, Dunstall Hill Trading Estate in Wolverhampton, occupying 4,000 square feet, the company began life offering full and cut plastic sheet distribution and some small fabrication work to the West Midlands region.
In 1994 due to rapid growth and a requirement for more space, ASH Plastics Ltd doubled our footprint and moved to the 8,000 square feet of Unit 10, Dunstall Hill Trading Estate. There we were able to fulfill bigger jobs and really hone our expertise in plastic fabrication techniques.
Also, in 1994 the company first hit a total annual turnover of £1,000,000 a memorable landmark for any company. Continued growth was seen over the next few years including the addition of the first CNC machine in 1995 which improved capacity and manufacturing times.
In 2001, ASH Plastics Ltd was still continuing to see growth and so it was decided to purchase our current location on Ettingshall Road, Wolverhampton, expanding our size and capacity to over 20,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space. Since 2001, we have continued to improve our manufacturing capacity with state-of-the-art equipment that produces high-quality products, helping the company keep pace with the demands of the modern manufacturing economy in the UK. Starting with the addition of our first laser cutter in 2002.
In recent years, we have moved our warehousing operation to an adjacent unit allowing more room for manufacturing and increasing the companies size to over 32,000 square feet which houses dozens of pieces of modern manufacturing equipment.
When founded back in 1982 the company had 6 members of staff, that number now stands at 35 members of full-time staff.
In July 2022 we celebrated 40 years of trading and manufacturing.
Today, with a team totalling hundreds of years of experience and knowledge of acrylic fabrication techniques and design, we’ve become specialists in providing the very best retail and point of sale displays in the UK. We have also grown to become expert manufacturers of precision components for sectors ranging from retail, to automotive to defence and beyond.
Our success has been built on listening to our customers and turning their unique ideas into reality. Our technical team use state of the art manufacturing equipment and design techniques to ensure that every project is approached with professionalism and attention to detail.
